With
deep emotion, I'm announcing that Raw Stock, Inc. has closed.
I've decided to take a position with Fujifilm USA.
I want to thank all of you for the great time I've had these
past twenty years.
All the filmmakers, producers, directors, DPs, ACs, production
managers and coordinators, the PAs, everyone.
We've had a lot of fun. The stories I could tell (and surely
will)...
To the folks who bought a hundred thousand feet for a feature...thanks.
To the folks who needed ten thousand feet for a commercial or
music video...thanks.
To the guys and gals that needed a couple of 16mm ends and a
recan or two...thanks.
To all of you that didn't get the difference between a daylight
spool and daylight film...I didn't mind explaining it a million
times.
To the folks that called me at 3:00 a.m. to find out how much
100' of black and white reversal would cost if they bought it
in two months and had it shipped to Alaska...I won't miss you.
To all of you, and you know who you are, who called me at midnight
on Saturday needing film for a Sunday sunrise shoot, then returned
it all on Monday...thanks...sort of...
To the PMs that let me buy all their unused stock at a fair
price, so the indie folks could get a deal...thanks.
To all those folks who had questions, day and night, who were
hoping to do that project "one day", I loved talking
you.
I'll miss all of
you.
If you have any questions,
I'll have my phone number active for a little while and I can
still be reached at recans@aol.com.
Sincerely,
Rich Kalinsky
